White line disease is a chronic breakdown of the hoof wall that usually starts as a splitting at the white line. If left untreated, the entire hoof wall my have to be resected. Treatment of white line disease must be undertaken with a product that kills both fungus and bacteria at the same time. The "Sav-A-Hoof" line of products are for white line disease. 6.Why are there different types of "Sav-A-Hoof" products if they all treat white line disease?

It depends on the severity of the case and the advice that your farrier and/or vet gives you. Sav-A-Hoof Gel is a concentrated, time release formula that should be used for severe cases under pads and in cracks and voids in the hoof wall. Sav-A-Hoof Liquid should be applied daily on the coronary band and the hoof wall until the defect grows out. Sav-A-Hoof Soak is used in conjunction with a therapeutic boot on stubborn cases as well. Sav-A-Hoof Spray is a convenient, less concentrated form of treatment. It is used on milder cases or as a preventive. Many farriers and vets recommend using more than one form of Sav-A-Hoof products at a time, depending on the severity of the individual case.
